Eksplorasi Etnomatematika di Museum Batik Pekalongan sebagai Bahan Pembelajaran Matematika

In essence, culture is the result of human work, taste, and creation that can affect individual behavior in understanding the development of education including mathematics learning. Meanwhile, mathematics is a form of culture related to abstract objects and thoughts, which are actually integrated in every element of community life. Ethnomathematics is a mathematical concept contained in a culture, the presence of mathematics with cultural nuances will make a major contribution to mathematics learning, namely as a bridge between students and culture so that mathematics is easily understood. One of the cultural sites that contains elements of ethnomathematics is the Pekalongan Batik Museum. This study aims to identify and describe the elements of ethnomathematics of Pekalongan Batik Museum and how it is utilized in mathematics learning. The method used in this research is field qualitative by analyzing data from observations, interviews, and documentation during the research. The results of this study show that Pekalongan Batik Museum has ethnomathematics elements related to mathematical concepts such as the concept of flat area, volume of space, and symmetry. These mathematical concepts can be utilized to introduce and understand mathematical concepts through local culture as an effort to develop students' character education.
